Attended by a robust audience of over 250, the mega awareness event featured esteemed panelists and stakeholders, including Mr. Vishwas Mote (Assistant Commissioner, M-West Ward, MCGM), Ms. Jyoti Mhapsekar (Founder and President, Stree Mukti Sanghatana), Mr. Shashikant Joshi (Deputy General Manager – EPR, Dalmia Polypro Industries Private Limited), Ms. Aarti Nijapkar (Kumkum Society President & TV Anchor), and Mr. Sajal Jaiswal (Deputy Manager – Sustainability & CSR, Kia India).

Mr. Ashish Jain, Founder & Director of IPCA, who moderated the panel discussion, emphasized IPCA’s pivotal role in environmental stewardship, highlighting their two-decade journey of sustainable change. The event marked the successful completion of Phase 1 of Project DROP (Develop Responsible Outlook for Plastic), a CSR initiative by Kia India implemented (in Mumbai) by IPCA and Social Lab Environmental Solutions.

Through a holistic awareness campaign and personalized training programs, the initiative aimed to instill responsible attitudes toward plastic usage and disposal. Engaging with 100 establishments, including 80 residential areas, 10 commercial entities, and 10 educational institutions, the project focused on building an efficient collection and recycling system for plastic waste and promoting waste segregation at the source.

Dignitaries on the dais recognized the societies, schools, and businesses enrolled in Project DROP, expressing collective commitment to combat plastic waste pollution in Mumbai. A school-level essay and drawing competition organized under the project celebrated young talent, with winners receiving prizes.

Looking ahead, Project DROP anticipates sustained efforts, forging new partnerships, and completing upcoming phases in the ongoing fight against plastic waste pollution.
